The Lamplighters Lectures
Lamplighters Lecturers are chosen for their ability to “illuminate the text.” They may help us
dig more deeply into a particular passage of Scripture, probing word choice, literary form, and
grammatical structure in order that we may better understand what the author intended to say.
They may consider broader aspects of the context of Scripture—What is the historical background?
What should we know about the culture? Where does it fit in biblical theology?—in a way that both
expands and deepens our understanding of the text.
Upcoming EventsBeginning in 2005, Lamplighters Lectures will be offered four times per year and each will typically comprise four lectures, the first on Friday night and the remaining three on Saturday morning and afternoon. Pre-registration through our website is strongly encouraged. The schedule of upcoming Lamplighters Lectures can be found on this page. Lectures open for registration will be featured on the BATL home page. To receive e-mail notification of upcoming events, please join our mailing list by clicking on the button at left.
